What is the Heritage Society?

The Heritage Society is an association of NAU alumni and friends who have made future provisions for the NAU Foundation in their estate plans, regardless of value. Such provisions may be in the form of bequests, trusts, annuities, life insurance, retirement plans or other means.

When you join the Heritage Society, you make a gift for all time…

Your planned gift is much more than a sum of money or other assets. It represents human values, caring, and hope; it can honor the memory of a loved one, or serve as a tribute to an influential mentor; it can promote values that you hold dear or extend the University’s good work into future generations and deserving communities.

In the Heritage Society, the focus is not on the size of the gift, but on the act of giving. When you join the Heritage Society, you come together with others to share in our common goals to promote future support for our students, faculty, and programs.

Membership in the Heritage Society is an ongoing association that symbolizes a continuing commitment to the University’s ideals. Most important, you will enjoy the good feeling that comes with knowing that you have helped to preserve and extend the values of the University.

You may become a member of our Heritage Society by letting us know you have made a provision in your estate plan for a gift to the Northern Arizona University Foundation. You can be an anonymous member for recognition purposes if you so choose and the specifics of your gift will be kept confidential, unless you give permission to share your plans for NAU with others.
