The NAU Fund

Gifts to the NAU Fund are the backbone of support for Northern Arizona University. These dollars serve as a catalyst for quality. Although the state of Arizona provides the foundation of support we need to operate a modern university, it takes private gifts to make NAU an exemplary institution.

The NAU Fund reaches all alumni, friends of NAU, students, faculty, staff, and parents to offer giving opportunities for the direct support of Northern Arizona University programs. The NAU Fund focuses on acquiring regular, yearly contributions, thus creating a dependable and very important source of non-legislative support for the university.

1. The NAU Fund enables Northern Arizona University to take advantage of unexpected opportunities, providing flexibility to develop new ideas and meet new demands.
2. The NAU Fund helps provide scholarships to deserving students, making it possible for them to attend NAU each year and pursue their educational aspirations.

3. NAU Fund dollars are used for direct support of the students’ educational needs, such as:

• Purchasing computers, software, library books, and musical instruments.
• Recruiting and retaining top-notch faculty, and featuring well known lecturers.
• Funding student and faculty travel for educational conferences and competitions.
• Maintaining student services for tutoring, counseling, disability assistance, campus safety, career advising, and health care.

Contributors to the NAU Fund may designate their gifts to any area, college, school, department, or program within the university. Or they may give to the President’s Fund for Excellence, which provides the university president with flexible dollars to apply to NAU’s greatest needs.

Contributions of all sizes are greatly appreciated and combined to meet the needs of our students, faculty, and programs. The President's Associates, the flagship of the NAU Fund, is a gift society that recognizes contributors who give $1,000 or more annually to Northern Arizona University Foundation. The President’s Associates members receive a number of benefits for membership.

The Senior Class Gift is also a part of the NAU Fund. This program gives graduating seniors the opportunity to financially assist a fellow student through the NAU Senior Legacy Scholarship Fund. For more information on how seniors can give back to NAU visit The Senior Class Gift.
